A day of mourning was . held throughout France for the flood victims. Flags were flown at hall; mast. 'l he members of the Government cancelled their p.ubiic engagements and social ceremonies were postponed. It is estimated that the damage will reach twelve millions sterling. Despite the magnitude of the disaster, it is expected that a national fund will lie raised which with Govonnont grants, will be sufficient to repair the damage. Between Montaubain and Moissne, many people are still marooned on their house tops.
