LATE LOCALS.
Advice was received this morning of the death last night about midnight a,t his residence, Palmerston North, of Mr Alexander Gooch, a former wellknown resident of Hokitika, and son of the late Mrs W. Gooch. The deceased was an employee of Palmerston North Gasworks. . lie leaves a wife and three children, two sisters (Mrs Anderson, of Wellington, and Mrs Haddow of Rtimi) and two brothers (William and Lawrence, of Hokitika). The deceased mis been seriously ill for some time past, but it was hoped he was on the mend, and his brother Lawrence, wh had been up to see him is at present on the return journey to Hokitika.
