MAORI CONVICTED
(By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian).
GISBORNE, Feh. 25
At the Supreme Court, before Judge Blair. Wiremu Turoi Mauiti was charged with breaking and entering with" intent to commit a crime and indecent assault. He was found guiltv of both charges with a recommendation to leniency on the grounds that there was no actual damage. Sentence was dcierrod. GISBORNE, February 26. Prisoners were sentenced by Justice Blair this morning.
Tapia liotohika who pleaded guilty to a charge that being a Maori (-(installable lie did accept from Mohu Bate a bribe oT Cl 1 Is fid, with intent to interfere with the due administration of justice, was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon. fvoliu Roto, on breaking, entering and theft, was admitted to probation for twelve months.
