MISSING PICTURES Mil MURRAY FULLER’S LOSS. DUNEDIN, February 24. Tlie pictures belonging E Murray Fuller s art collection that were on the Manuka when she was wrecked number about forty-five, and | the total so far found is exactly twenty. It is rather odd that all of the pictures found are of less value than the otb.-ws. the recovery of which is not reported, judging by the individual in--•vu'enoe*. Sir William Orpen’s “Highlanders Resting on the Somme” was insured for £4OO. It has not been heard of. Others insured for sums ranging from £250 to £IOO are also vf, H ni'ss'iig. On the other hand, the recoveries to date include works that were insured for sums cnrrving from ''V-'t £so to £l2, Sir William Orpen’s painting has a '•articular value. .It was sketched on the spot and therefore, can never be reproduced. A sentimental value al- '•'• •attaches in a less degree the others that are missing.
