FIJIAN WHIRLWIND

A whirlwind front the north-east of Suva at 5.30 p.m. yesterday, blew along the waterfront at 120 miles per hour. The chief damage was done to Terry and Sou, boatbnilders. A public works man and a boy were slightly injured. A Helena schooner, belonging to Terry, on the slip for repairs front, a recent hurricane, was lifted up five feet and was landed clear of the slip at an angle of 45 degrees. Small craft were thrown 50 yards. It is estimated the damage to the Shell Oil Stores is £4OO.
