NEW FRENCH MINISTRY

M. CHAUTEMP’S TEAM. L United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.] PARIS, Feb, 21. M. Chautenips, on securing M. Briand’s assurance of his co-operation lias submitted a new Ministry to M. Doumergue as follows: M. Chautenips, Premier and Minister,- of the Interior; M. Briand, Minister of Foreign Affairs; M. Deladier, Minister of War; M. Sarrant, Minister of Marine; M. Dumont, Minister of Finance; M. Quouille, Minister of Agriculture; M. Ricotfore, Minister of Pensions; M. Frandin, Minister of Cimmoroe: M. Loucheur, Minister of Public Works; M. Pietri, Minister for the. Colonies. Tite Ministry's complexion is Radical and Left Centre. It will have the support-of the Socialists, but it remains to -be seen what majority it will command in the chamber. The new Premier was a former Rugby International. He is 45 years of age. and is a barrister of agreeable manners. He is regarded as a mail of modest views, but he lias been known to,,ishow firmness in the past. M. Tardieu, in declining to enter the Chautenips’ Cabinet, declared that events did not permit of his collaboration. This he said might bo interpreted ,as a disavowal of the majority whereby Ji is Government had been faithfully defended in its inter-

lational actions at The Hague and at

London, but he assured M. Oilautemps that he would support any. Government taking the same line as hintself at the Naval Conference. Au official correction, shows that the Tardieu Government was only defeated by a majority of one vote, not five.
