The speech from the throne stated 1929 was the most productive in the history of Canada, with nij ch.stries other than agriculture rej curding the highest employment fig [ urea in history. The Dominion was already recovering from the seasonal slackness evident at the end of the year and "it is not to he forgotten that the bulk of the 1929 wheat crop still remains in Canadian hands foi final disposition.” Important legislation will be brought clown respecting several railway properties formerly privately owned, and now embraced in the Canadian National. Other legislation will make more adequate provision for the needs of war veterans and dependants. A Bill will he introduced to consolidate the Canada Grain Act which received much attention last session. The report of the Royal Commission into radio matters will be considered. A solution has been sought bv a conference on differences between Ontario, Quebec and Dominion legislatures respecting the matter of ( power. There are hopes that the conference will lead to a satisfactory settlement. , NEW YORK REVELATION.
