The Australian trade treaty, extended to New Zealand, will be under fire before the Tariff Advisory Board on March 12th. when the Southern Alberta sheep breeders will ask for the restoration ’duties on imported meats to the basis which obtained before the negotiation of the treaty.

CANCER EXPERIMENTS
VANCOUVER,, Feb. 20
The journal of the American Medical Association applauds Coffey and Hunter for experimental work and their modest disclaimers that they developed a pander cure in a popular sense, but warns sufferers against the great trek which has begun towards California to attend the clinics. The journal adds an extract similar to Coffey’s has been developed by Professor Hansen, of Minnesota, from the thymus of a calf that will produce lyric changes in cancer cells following injection. Still it is criminal to arouse hopes that a cure lias been discovered,and sufferers [ should not be duped, by expectations that ' are false, so far as the.' present 'knowledge goe«» j '■
ORIENTALS IN CANADA. ? '•' VANCOUVER, February 20. The removal from Canada of all Orientals with expropriation of their properties was urged-' and the Provincial Government according to a message received tfrom Victoria, British Columbia, by the White Canadian Association. British Columbia Association is seeking a grant of five thousand dollars tc l,e used to ascertain the practicability of revising British treaties which rend er provincial exclusion of Orientals impossible. Full compensation for property rights. is intended.
TO PREVENT FRAUD
TORONTO, February 20
A seven years term of imprisonment for brothers being guilty of accepting clients money but gambling against them by not making .stock purchases is a feature of the recommendation by Attorney Generals of four provinces for new legislation aimed at preventnig Stock Exchange frauds. They also recommend compulsory written confirmation to customers of all purchase and sales with the time of transaction. The proposal awaits ratification by the ifour Legislatures concerned.
