JUBILEE MEETING

TIMARU, Feb. 20.

The annual meeting of shareholders of the United Press Association was; held this afternoon.' The members present. were: Messrs A. G. Henderson (chairman, Christchurch Times),' L. The .Chairman, delivered an address dealing with the business of the year,, and gave a number of interesting facts and statistics as to . the progress of tne Association during its fifty years: or existence.

Messrs Henderson and W. Easton, the o.nly. nominees, were elected to the two vacancies oii the Board. Rotorua was selected as the next place .of meeting. An extraordinary meeting was then! held, at which a. number of amendments to the Articles of the Association . .were- passed., .At a meeting of the directors later, Mr E. Abbey Jone# was elected Chairman for the ensuing year. Mr A. G. Henderson tendered his resignation, and Mr A. M. Burns, of the Christchurch Press, was appointed to the vacancy thus created.
