ADDINGTON STOCK SALE.

CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. ‘l9

There was a good sale for pigs today at Addington market and a fair sale for store sheep and lambs. There was a large yarding of store lambs, and a good sound sale at prices fully lip to late rates for better quality. inferior sorts were inclined to ease. There was a medium entry of adult st re sheep, chiefly small lots. It was an unattractive catalogue, and an irregular, market, with few good sales.

There was a small entry of fat sheep, mostly ewes of mediocre quality. There was an easing tendency. Extra prime wethers sold at 325, prime 28s to 30s 6d. medium 25s to 27s 6d, light 21s io 21s; extra, prime ewes to 265, prime ewes 21. s to 235. medium 18s to 20s 6d. others from 14’. There was a small yarding of fat lambs of mixed quality. The demand was firm for the best quality. Inferior sorts were easier. Extra heavy prime lambs sold to 80s 4d. prime 26s to 28s (id, medium 23s 6d to 25s 6d, light 19s 6d to 225.

There was a medium entry of beef in all grades. The market was firm for prime stuff, hut unfinished W'harder to quit. There was a sli'dd easing all round. Extra, heavy steers s Id £l9 to £2l 1.7 s6d prime £l6 10s to £lB, medium £l4 to £ls 15“, licrlit* £lO 5s to £l2 10s. Heavy heifers sold £l4 to £l6 7s 6d, mime. £ll 15s to £l3 15s, medium £9 to £lO ss, inferior from £7 15s. Extra heavy cows sold £l4 to £ls 12s 6d. prime £lO 10s to £ll 10s, medium £8 10s to £9 10s, others from £5 I.os.

There wrs a largo yarding of porkers, and a pood sound sale at prices slightly easier than last week’s good prices. Average porkers sold 48s to; £3, heavy £3 to £3 10s, the average! price per lb being BVcl to lOd. j
