ACCIDENT AT AWAKINO.

OAAIARU, February 17

Employers in one of the execavations at the Awakino hydro-electrie underfak’ng had a fortunate escape early last Thursday morning, when a jib crane, which towers some hundred odd feet in the air and which is used for removing rock spoil, broke from its moorings and crashed into the pit where the men were working.
