BRISBANE, Feb. 17

Extraordinary circumstances are associated with the disappearance and death of Airs Margaret Furst, a woman of educational attainments, who resided on an orchard at Appletliorpe, in Southern Queensland, with her husband, an Italian She was last seen by the local Postmistress, on February 6tn., when she called for her mail, since when the Postmistress had Iboen unable to raise Iter by telephone. Site became suspicious, and told the local police who began a search. They discovered her parrot and bulldog on the verge of starvation, it ltd the house deserted. The police secured black trackers. The garden was dug up. Finally Mrs Furst’s body was found four feet below the surface, with the skull fractured, she having apparently been murdered. Her husband was last seen leaving by train on February Bth. The police are now looking for him, The ground where the body was buried was recently harrowed, apparently to allay suspicion.
