SHARK TRAGEDY

MELBOURNE, February 16
The first shark tragedy for fifty years at Brighton Beach occurred yesterday. Norman Clark, aged 18 years, was attacked while bathing near the pier, and was terribly mauled. He was dragged 'into the hay, hut his body has not yet been recovered. His lady! companion was an eye witness to the shocking affair. A crowd of people saw the shark seize Clark by the buttocks. It dragged him under time and time again. His cries became fainter and faintei, until there was nothing left but Moodstained water.
