CORRESPONDENCE.

gold mixing interests. (To the Editor.) Sir—The Jit. Greenland mining areas that have just lately been acquired present one of the best mining ventures undertaken on the Most Coast for retasons. Nature provides elevation to the height of 1800 ft. which can be used in many ways to advantage. This provides for the influx of water which can be discharged by way of main low level adit, and by those means practically no pumping machinery will be required until nature has been exhausted, and by heights to this extent all the ores for treatment can he worked on gravitation. I lie main low level adit too, gives direct access to the main workings for the supply ot timber and transport of the ores to the treatment plants. This adit also will provide good ventilation by linking up with upper winze and drives, and the fact must not.be overlooked by the driving of this lew adit will intersect the five reefing system—traversing the areas and will give working hanks by driving approx 2500 ft. to the height of over 700 ft. Water power at this point will he more efficient. At the present junction in No 2 level all the ores won bv winzing and driving on the ore bodies will he treated at the battery plant now installed on the sight, while the concentrates and sands will be saved until a more modern machinery plant, is installed at lower levels. The value of ores treated by the plant now on the battery site, records show that over a tonnage of 500 tons treated by amalgam only from No 1 and 2 levels, returned a value of over £SOOO and the ore body at No 2 level, is very strong underfoot and the sinking on this ore body and crosscutting to the continuation of the reel known ;i,s the William Tell, will prove this mine to be of considerable value. I am etc., IV. BIER WORTH, Superintendent.
