ECONOMIC COUNCIL
FOR BRITAIN.

LONDON, Feb. 13.
The new, Economic Advisory Council the constitution of which the Prime Minister announced in the House qf Commons to-day, will consist of men eminent in economics and in many spheres of business Those who have consented to serve include, Sir Arthur Balfour, who has been president of the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and has served on many economic wiumittees; Mr Bevin, the leader of the Dock Workers’ Union; Sir John Cadman, Chairman of the • Anglo-Persian Oil CoHPbany; Mr Walter Citrine, the General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress; Mr George Cole, who holds the degree in economics of Dxford University; Colonel Sir Andrew Duncan, chairman of the Central Electricity Board; Dr J M. Keynes, the wellknown economist; Sir Alfred Lewis, Chief General Manager of the National and Provincial Bank;' Sir Josiah Stamp President of the London, Midland and Scottish railway; also the famous economist, Mr Richard Tawny, Reader in Economic History at London University.
