M cG GORGE*- -hi W E X EY. , A prot'y u.nd popular wedding was solemnised at All (Saints Church, Hokitika, on Wednesday, when Lilian Ina, eldest d.lighter of Mr and Mis 11. W. R. Sv. cnoy of “Gnrston Hokitika, was married to .Joseph Henry William, second son of .Mrs and the late Mr J. C. MeGcorgo, of “Avalon.” Dunedin.
The officiating clerg 'man was flic Rev. Nelson Wright. Tho service ua> fully choral, Miss Davies presiding ai the-ergau. The church was liicely decorated lor the occasion by friends. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly id tired in an.early Victorian gown of white satin with coronet of orange blossoms and veil -of embroidered tulle. She- carried a beautiful bouquet of white roses, clematis and cactus dahlias. Two bridesmaids were in aitendame, Miss Myrllo S’.venoy (sister ol th’j 'bride), and Miss Noel McGeorgt (sister of the bridegroom). The, wore early Victor!.ui (rocks o; Horn) satin trimmed with ecru lace in smoke blue and maize respectively. B H wore lari: straw hats 'lu match their frocks and carried semi-Victorian - cosies to .'.'toner Miss Tliora Swaiiey (siSterikif- the bride )■■■. made >a- .dainty flower girl, wearing a frock.ol lavender satin, with delicate ecru lace. Kim carried a basket of asparagus fe ,, n, cinnararias in shades of lavendar and. pink. '
Mr H. J. McGeorgo (bridegroom’s brother) was best man and the bride’s brothers, Messrs H. M. Sweney and J. PI. Sweney acted as groomsmen.
The wedding breakfast was held at “Garston,” where Mrs Sweney received the guests. vSlie wore a frock- of (silver grey georgette relieved with delphinium blue and hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of larkspur, heather and maidenhair fern. Airs .1. t. McGeorgo, the bridegroom's mother, was attired in a biege ensemble with hat to match and carried a bouquet of bronze coloured French marigolds. Later the happy couple left for the north on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a biege moroeaine jumper suit with felt hat to match and slm carried a tweed coat, of a deeper shade. The happy couple were the recipients of many useful and valuable gifts.
