Terrific heat is being experienced in Victoria and South Australia, The temperature at Melbourne lias for a fortnight been over ninety degrees. It twice reached 104 degrees in the shad. v

Adelaide lias had its worst heat wave for fifty years. The temperature there to-day at midday was 10fi degrees, while yesterday it was up to 111*:- degrees. The mercury has not been below ninety degrees there for twelve consecutive days.
