CAIRO, Feb. 10.

The biggest tomb yet discovered in Egypt has been found in the vicinity of the Sphinx. There are no less than forty-f|ve )some i,m perfect condition, in the tomb, which was the burial place of llaouer, the High Priest of Nekheb. He is also described in inscriptions as “Majordomo of the Palace, Master of the Royal Wardrobe, the King’s Barber, the Prince ol Pot and the Master of Ceremonies.” AN AGE OLD LINK WITH THE PAST. 4 this day at 8.30. a.m.) CAIRO, Feb. 10. Egyptian excavators have discovered the largest tomb unearthed in Egypt. It belonged to Ra Ourer, the High Priest of the Goddess Nekabeb, who flourished in the reign of Neferririkara, the third King of the Fifth Dynasty in the year 1730 B.C-. • The tomb consists of three large halls and eighty small chambers, with thirty places for the erection of statues to the dead. Forty-five statues'were recovered, mostly perfect. A man’s dismembered hand was found inserted in a coffin with a mummy. A handless skeleton lying nearby was presumed to be a. robber killed by the subsidence of the tombs’ ceiling while attempting to rifle the mummy’s necklace of the precious stones.
