The newspapers to-morrow morning will feature extensively on their financial pages, a statement issued bj Mr Brookes in the name of Messrs Soullin and Thcodoro concerning Australian finance. Headlines such as: “Australia spikes rumours on bonds. Reassures holders. Commonwealth will meet all obligations.” “Officials of Australia give assurances of Commonwealth financial stability.” The papers stress thq importance of the statement, and indicate the widespread interest in the matter. 'The Blair Company officials to-day commenting on the cabled reports from Sydney that the loan arrangements are completed, declared a definitive settlement has not yet been made.
