WILKINS MISSING
WITH HIS STEAMER, t (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Cop.yright.) LONDON, February 5. A wireless message from Deception Island says: .“For seven days and nights we have been trying to get in touch with Wilkins’ steamer, “Jolm S. Scoresbv.” but without success. We are unable to account for its mysterious silence. We cannot imagine a wireless breakdown which would keep Wilkins silent for so long. We have doubled our watches, and are endeavouring to gain contact with the “John S. Scoresbv,” which is adrift somewhere is a. vast sea of broken ice to tne south.” NO NEWS OF WILKINS. (Received this dsiv at. 9. n.m.f NEW YORK, Fob. G. The New York American today printed a despatch to Hearst newspaper stating that no word bad boon received from Wilkins for eight dnjs and a. relief ship would be sent south il word was not received soon from the steamer “William Scoresbv,” on board which are Wilkins’ and his personnel.
