AGREEMENT ON RATES

As a result of negotiations between Imperial Communications Limited and Amalgamated Wireless, an agreement has been reached, pending the final approval, of assimilating cable and wireless rates subject to higher rates for urgent messages. This ■brings cable charges roughly down to wireless levels. Representation will be made to the Australian Post Office about the land line charges. The Imperial Communications lias renewed its offer to the British Post Office to use beam wireless telephony to Australia, and -.also offers to abide by a comparative test by the post office with independent arbitration.
