ANNUAL PICNIC

OF MENTAL HOSPITAL PATIENTS.

The .picnic being postponed twice without striking fine weather, it was decided to hold it in two parts. The afternoon of the 30th January turning out fine, the games and races were held on the hospHta-l cricket ground, and afterwards the picnic; tea provided by the generosity of those mentioned below was enjoyed.

By this arrangement the hospital was not able to avail itself of Graham’s paddock which had been generously ofFered as in previous years, and also Messrs Monk and Marshall for their offer of milk.

Following! the tea, a dance was held and closed a very enjoyable day. On the 2nd February, a party of 100 was taken in three motor lorries for two trips. One in the. morning around the Arahura Valley, and one in the afternoon to Koiterangi. All were well satisfied and happy with the picnic, and its success is due to the kindness of the following, whom the Medical Superintendent wishes to thankKortegast Bros,, Rjev. Hayward, Messrs Turner and Co., Mrs Groufsky, Mrs Moriarty, Mr \V. Foley, Mr A. P. Sharkey, Mr T. W. Bruce, Mr D. J. Evans, Mr F. McGregor, Mrs J. Atkinson, Mrs Hatch, Mrs F. Preston, Mrs W. J. Butler, Mrs E. O’Connor, Mrs JDevaney. Mr \Y. E. Williams, Mr H. M. Coulson.
