IRELAND’S HIGH PERCENTAGE

LONDON, February 4
The Irish Free State census figures, iust issued, reveal that that country possesses the world’s highest percentage of bachelors. Ireland has also a marked tendency to late marriages. Between the ages of 20 and 30 years the percentage of bachelors is eighty, and between 30 and 35 it is sixty-two. The next highest known percentage of bachelors is in Sweden, where the comparative figures are: From 25 to 30, sixty-four per cent. The corresponding figures for England and Wales are 45 per cent.: and for America 25 per cent. The returns also show that one out of every four women remaining in the. Free State will, never marry.
