INVER CARGILL, February 3
Some time during the week-end, thieves broke into the premises of Mosers Sclmieclaman’s Ltd, tailors, in Dee Street, and stole notes and silver to the value of £O3. An entrance was gained through a back door, which wah forced, the siot of the bolt with which the door was also secured beingwrenched from the wood. The siiop was closed on Saturday night, and the takings, amounted to a little over £63, were placed in the drawer, which in turn was hidden in an ordinary suit box. This was placed on top of other suit boxes, in a screened off partition at the rear of the shelf. It is understood that the manager, Mr Edgar Wilson, visited the shop on Sunday morning about 10.30 o’clock, in order to collect some mail for posting, but did not go into the rear portion of the premises, and left everything apparently in order. Constables Kitchin and Kird discovered that the premises had been broken into, when, at an early hour this morning, they investigated an open door leading on to the Grand Hotel right of way. The police are investigating the affair.
