Following a telephone message, a stranger, giving the name of Ali Khan, who declared lie had overheard Indian students plotting to. blow up the Indian room at the British Museum, the authorities extensively searched and discovered a circular package wrapped in newspaper whereto a fuse was attached, on the staircase near the Indian gallery. Scotland Yard is examining the bomb, which is obviously home-made, with a view of determining whether it. is destructive or a, dummy If the former, an explosion would hare caused irreparable damage to the sniperb collection of sculptures.

SCOTLAND YARD STATEMENT. LONDON, February 2. Scotland Yard issued a statement that the museum bomb undoubted!} contained explosive matter, but the extent could not be stated until it bad been analysed by Home office experts.
