SWIMMING
A 'SUCCESSFUL CARNIVAL. At the Swimming Baths last evening there was a large attendance lor the carnival attended by a number of the swimmers attending the recent championships at Grcymouth. The) Municipal Band played a programme before the sports commenced. Considerable interest was shown in the performances of the visitors, and the contests proved excellent. The evening was somewhat cold with a fairly cool wind blowing which militated considerably against the enjoyment of those present, it being far warmer in the water than out ofit. The following are the results: I.—BOYS’ RACE, 25 YARDS P. Diedrichs scr. W. Saundeis 2secs. C. Duncan 2secs. R. Roberts 3sees. C. Saunders ssecs. Dedi'ichs Ist.
