CROUCH ARRIVES. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 27. A. B. Crouch, formerly known as John Gray, land agent at Helensville, returned by the Niagara yesterday from Texas, where the charges of forgery on which ho was extradited from New Zealand were dismissed. He was met by members of h,is family and Helensville friends/ Interviewed lie said he was going to Helensville at once to re-enter business. He had seen many old friends in Tepcas, and bad persuaded them that New Zealan was the finest little country in the world. Everything in connection with the case had turned out as he expected. Too much fuss had been made out of it. A FIRE. NAPIER, Jan. 28. A five-roomed house owned and occupied by Mr and Mrs Jand, was totally destroyed by fire at Tnnadale this morning. Insurance is £7OO in the Mercantile General on the house, £250 on furniture and £25 on the shed.
