When taken to a nursing home last week his weak and emaciated state, due to prolonged fasting, made him unable to withstand the operation undertaken in the hope of relieving a serious intestinal complaint brought about by his privations. Eugene Tomory was buried in a grave of honour at the expense of the municipality of Budapest, a mark of distinction which is reserved for Hungary’s greatest sons.
