WESTRALIAN FIRES
WORST IN HISTORY. (Australian Press Association) (Received this day at 9.40 a.m.) PERTH, Jan. 23. Fires in Bridgestown, Northam and Mcora districts are the worst in the history of the State. It is impossible to ’estimate the damage, but valuable crops and stocks of fodder, as well as fences, valuable buildings, and cattlq buildings were destroyed. Telephone ‘and telegraphic services are dislocated. The fires are now mostly under control.
