CANADIAN TEAM WELCOMED

WELLINGTON, January 21
A warm welcome on behalf of the people of New Zealand was extended to the Canadian bowlers at the Government reception at Parliament House to-day. Mr Forbes expressed regret at the absence of Sir Joseph Ward, who had asked him to convey his personal good wishes of the people of the Dominion. Mr Forbes expressed the hope- that the team would go away with a good impression of the Dominion. He referred to the appointment of Mx Collins as Trade Commissioner in Canada, a man who was fully alive to the possibilities ol increased trade between the two countries. Dr Weston Krupp replied.
CANADIAN BOW LEMS, ■WELLINGTON, Jan. 22. Tho Canadian howlers matches had to he abandoned owing to rain, after a few, heads were played. To-day they are the guests of the Racing Club at Trentham, N.Z TOURNAMENT RINKS SECTION WINNERS. DUNEDIN, January 21. The bowling tournament was continued' to-day in splendid weather. The section.' play in the rinks competition was completed. Section play in the pairs will also be continued to-morrow.
