EVERYBODYS PICTURES 4 “THE BELLAMY TRIAL.” TO-NIUHT. An all-star cast in .more ways than one is “The Bellamy Trial/’ playing at the Theatre as a Metro-(iloldwyh-Mayey feature : “You’re Honour, Ti; object: 1”. The fiery prosecutor is on his feet, snapping his protestations. The Defence wishes to call a surprise witness who has just come forward after the closing arguments have been made. That is just one of the many tickling legal questions that the directed had- to answer when he was filming “The Bellamy Trial,” which is playing at the Princess Theatre as a Metro-Ooldwyn-Mayer feature production. To obtain a reply to the question of the witness’ eligibility to testify after the taking of evidence has ended, the director sought the advice of Attorney Jerry Cleisler, prominent Los Angeles criminal attorney, who expressed the opinion that the witness might be called at the Judge’s discretion. ary powers are of sufficient latitude to , permit him to overrule the prosecutor’s objection. Leatrice Joy plays the leading role in the murder drama, heading a stellar east, which includes Georg*. Barraud, Kenneth Thompson, Betty Bronson, Margaret Seddon, Charles Middleton, Polly Moran and Charles H. Mailes. ’l’lie usual supports and Mr F. Resticuax at the piano.
