With refeireri.ee to the cablegrams' from The Hague in yesterday’s papers,, announcing that an agreement had' been reached between New Zealand' and Germany, the Rt. Hon. the Prime; i Minister explained that by the term* I of the Young Report, it is reeom- \ mended that all German confiscate^-''^ property which is not liquidated, or liquid, or finally disposed of, should be handed back. In the recent discussions at The Hague, some littleconfiscated German properties in. Western Samoa, which had been vested in the Crown some years ago, could l , be regarded as “finally disposed of.”' By the” agreement between Germany and New Zealand" recently concluded! at The Hague, these properties will not lie returned, but are to- he regarded as “finally disposed’of,’* and, on the 'other hand, German interests have been recocnised in property of : some small} value in New Zealand.
