CANTERBURY EDUCATION BOARD.
The Canterbury Education Board met at Christchurch on Friday. Present: — Messrs 11. Wild, J. W. Prenn, G. W. Armitage, C. S. Thompson, J. G. Gow, E. H. Andrews, W. H. Winsor, W. Johnson, T. Hughes, AY. P. Spencer, \A r . A. Banks, and J. Bignell. APPOINTMENTS. Appointments' confirmed included the following:— Goldsborough, Miss J. G. Musgrove, sole teacher. Humphreys, Mr B. K. Lyttle, sole teacher. Ivokatahi, Air C. R. Russell, headteacher, Miss G. G. Andrews, assistant mistress. RESIGNATIONS. Greymouth: Miss C. Bourke, A.M. (Marriage); Hokitika : Mr 1). C. AVilliamson, A.M. (Geraldine); Humphreys: Miss E. I Dale, S.T. (Hokitika). BEQUEST FOR SCHOLARSHIPS. A memorandum was read from the District Public Trustee, Christchurch respecting a bequest made hv AVilliam Cooke, of Kaikoura, tor the purpose ol providing or assisting in providing a scholarship or scholarships tor children of the Kaikoura district in connection with technical education. It was decided to refer the matter to the Finance Committee to formulate a scheme for the utilisation of the income and to be derived trom the estate towards the purpose mentioned in the bequest.
