COME TO LIVE IN NEW r ZEALAND "WELLINGTON, Jan. 13. .Dr Frank Birkinshaw, Mrs Ihrkinshaw, and their small daughter arrived to-day by the Tainui on their way to Napier, where Dr Birkinshaw is taking charge of a practice lor the time being. Mrs Birkinshaw was a Miss Jepson, daughter of Mr Edgar Jepson, the novelist, who wrote *‘Arsene Lupin,” “The Man W 7 ho Cam*' Back,” “The Tragedies of Mr Pip,” and other popular books. Sehvyn Jepson is her brother, and to his credit, besides short stories, are such novels as “Rogues and Diamonds.” “Death Gong,” and “Golden Eve.” “W r hen everybody else in the family writes it is a very difficult thing to avoid,”' said Mrs Birkinshaw, in admitting to a reporter that she, too, was a wrter of some standing. “I have written since I was 18, ’ she continued, “principally for the Strand and Pearson’s Magazines. I have never heard anyone say a bad word of New Zealand. W T e are hoping to like the ’ courttry very much and may settle here. I expect to write some stories with a New Zealand background.” Mrs Birkinshaw, who has lived in London all her life, finds that her literary work, coupled with homo duties, keens her fully occupied, arid she has little time for other activities.
