CLERGYMAN ARRIVES LATE
WEDDING CEREMONY DELAYED. AUCKLAND, Jan. 16. Tlie late arrival of the officiating clergyman caused temporary consternation among a party gathered for the celebration of a wedding in Auckland to-night. The ceremony was arranged for 7.30, and both the principal parties to the pending pact arrived punctually. However, there was no sign of the minister, who had to travel from Otahuhu to officiate. The minutes dragged, and within the church the groom awaited his bride, who was obliged to wait outside in a taxi-cab. As it was necessary for the marriage to be performed before 8 o’clock it was decided to send a hurried summons to ,a neighbouring clergyman, and the verger was about to invoke the necessary aid when the minister from Otahuhu arrived ten minutes late. His apology for an unavoidable late . arrival .tendered, the ceremony was proceeded with and co mole fed comfortably within the time available.
