Mr Chichester, who arrived at Karachi late on Tuesday evening, was very tired. He left yesterday morning He was expected to reach Calcutta at mid-day. As yet there is no news of him since his leaving Karachi.

CHICHESTER’S PROGRESS

RECORD ACHIEVEMENT FOR SMALL PLANE.

DELHI, Jan. 16

Chichester spent last night at Janhsi and flew to Dumbum aerodrone Calcutta to-day, covering the distance of seven hundred miles in six and three quarter hours. This is almost a record achievement for a small plane over the most difficult part of India, Chichester was fatigued cn arrival at Karachi on Tuesday after a long flight from Chalibar and set out next morning for Calcutta, hut was onlv able to reach Jhansi. He hopes to leave Calcutta to-morrow for Akyab, thence Rangoon.

A PROPOSED FLY

Flying Officers H. L. Piper, and C. F. Kay, New Zealanders, attached to the twenty-sixth squadron at Catherick, representing the National Petrol Station and Subsidiary National Flying Services, are arranging to fly a Her’res Engined de Seoutter cabined monoplane from London tn Darwin. Preparations are incomplete, and the date of their departure has not been fixed.
