The first heat of the Sayomvra Cup was raced to-day, the competing yachts -being the Vanessa (New South Wales’ representative and holdei the cup) and the 'Acroslire IV (the Victorian representative and c ialenger). The latter is a new yacht built especially for the race, wut ‘ was of tep miles seaward and return. A strong twenty-two miles &.E. wmet and rough seas tested the competing yachts to the. utmost: The Vanessa, with a handicap of nine minutes fourteen seconds, won easily.
