LAND DEVELOPMENT
PERSONNEL OF BOARD COAirLETED.
WELLINGTON, January 10. In reply to a question by a reporter the Minister for Lands (the Hon G. IV Korbes) stated to-day that the personnel of the Lands Development Board established under the provisions of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1929 had been completed by the appointment of Air J. R. Franklin, of St. John's Hill, Wanganui.
The Board, said Mr Forbes, was fortunate in counting Air., Franklin amongst its members, for not only had be bad extensive experiences but had also carried out a great deal of private development work. He had no doubt that the appointment would give general satisfaction.
Air Forbes intimated that the three advisory committees which had been appointed in the North Auckland and Auckland land districts were commencing active inspection work', and that the Lands Development Board would shortly hold regular meetings in furtherance ol the policy of settling the undeveloped Crown Lands of the Dominion.
