DEBATERS RETURN
FROM VISIT TO CANADA

WELLINGTON, Jan. 14
Three Victorian College debaters who recently toured Canada and United States have returned with pleasing recollections of their trip. They had a wonderfully successful series of debates with American Universities and have learned a good deal about American life and the people. Out of 28 the New Zealanders won 17, there was one draw, one loss, and in nine there was no decision.
The loss was at Hamilton. New York vState, while the draw, was at Regina. Speaking Club where three judges took hnlf-an-hour to give their reasons for deciding against the New Zealanders, but the audience gave a two-thirds vote for the visiting team, so the result was declared a draw.
Amongst the universities and colleges visited were Columbia. Princeton, Hamilton, Vassar, Pennsylvania State, Hood. Boston. Williams. Middlobary, and Dartmouth,
