Sir Joseph Ward stated to-day tha* the Post Office Savings Bank ha shown a remarkable recovery durin< the past year. For; the year ender December 31st, 1928, the withdrawal exceeded the deposits by £1,359,61; while, for the year just ended the d' posits had exceeded the withdrawals by £351,175., * Naturally,, said Sir Joseph, such • recovery was very gratifying, and we indicative of an improving position v the people’s affairs.
