COSTS £33,500. NEW YOIRK, November 24. The comfortable sum of £33,530 is the award granted to Aliss Juanita Hansen, formerly a prominent film actress, in one of the most unusual suits for damages ever heard in an American court. Her back was disfigured, she could not raise her arms, and she spent thousands of dollars on medical treatment. The accident, she asserted, left -her 1 unable to earn her living. 1 ATiss Hansen s evidence was . sup- 1 ported by doctors. The hotel pro- ’ prietors, on the other baud, sought to prove that she was a drug addict.
