WRECK SURVIVORS

A GRUELLING TRAMP

[United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.] CAPETOWN, January 9. After great hardships, owing to lack of food and water, the engineer and two seamen of the steadier “Limpopo,” which was wrecked at Sylvia Hill ninety miles north of Luderitz, reached Luderitz to-day.

A Government tug has left to recue the captain and eleven men. The engineer and the two seamen landed on the edge of a waterless desert. The trio followed the coast south ward, equipped with only half ft gallon df water, and two tins of milk. After thirty hours they found a deserted cabin, stocked with supplies, all of which were bad. They were exhausted, but they struck a diamond miner’s claim, where they were fed, and. after enjoying a rest, they continued. There were sand dunes everywhere. Their food and water were finished on the fifth night. Then they saw lights and tried to reach them, but were too weak. At daybreak they painfully made their way into Luderitz. arriving at ten o’clock. The Limpopo was on her maiden voyage from Scotland to Lorenzo Marques.
