LATE LOCALS.

The Kanieri Tennis Club are inviting tenders for the supply of gravel and sand.

A peculiar accident occurred at Victoria Park on Monday just after the last race of the day. A boy named Geoffrey Adams, son Air Adams of Alexander Street, was swinging underneath the inside railing of the track opposite the main grandstand, and evidently unaware, that the particular part of the railing in his grip was that which is movable in order to allow the passage of the water tank vehicle, lie caused it to he dislocated. The rail fell upon the hoy’s abdompn, rendering him unconscious. Though he partially regained consciousness, he was at once placed aboard the ambulance and conveyed to the Hospital for medical examination. Later in the evening his condition was reported to have improved considerably, there being evidently no serious effects from the accident.
