WEDDING BELLS

A popular wedding was solemnised at Holy Trinity Church, Grevmouth, on December 23rd, of George Dyer Dawson, son of Mrs Dawson, Dunedin, to Eubv Florence, daughter of Mrs J. Hibbs, Camerons. The was performed by Archdeacon J. A. Jermyn. The bride, who entered the Church on the ai mof her uncle, Mr J. The bridesmaids were Miss Coral Hibbs (sister of the bride), wearing wattle georgette, tiered frock falling uneven at the sides. Hat to match, silvers shoes and stockings. She carried a mauve tinted bouquet. Miss Rose Hogarth (cousin of the bride) wore mauve georgette, tiered frock falling uneven at the sides, hat to match, silver shoes and stockings, and carried a wattle tinted bouquet. Two little flower girls, Coral and Vera Russ (nieces of the bride) wore frocks of pale blue and maize crepe-de-chene, frilled to the waist, head-bands of tulle and carried pretty baskets of flowers with coloured streamers. Mr? T. Hibbs (brother of the bride) accompanied the bridegroom as best man, while Mr J. Mayo carried out the duties of groomsman. As the bridal party left the Church, the bride was presented with a silver horse shoe, and the bridegroom a silver shoe by Master C. Taylor. A reception was held at Harker’s tea rooms, where the usual toasts were duly honoured. Mr and Mrs Dawson left later amid showers of confetti and good wishes for Dunedin and Invercargill, where the honeymoon will he spent. The bnde travelled in a smart sandle celanese frock, shoes and stockings to match, (Bangkok straw lint, fox fur. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a set of xylonite ware, to the bridesmaids and 1 flower girls gold armlets. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a-silver shaving .outfit. An evening was held in Cameron’s Hall, the young couple receiving a large number of presents, including many cheques.
