The position of the leading players is as follows Gunderson 10-J, Severne OF, Purdy 9 ; Anderson 8, Erskine 8, Kelling 7-J, Pleasants 5.
INQUESTS,
DUNEDIN, Jan. 6
At the inquest on Chin Jan Ching Sing, who died suddenly on December 26th, when removed to the hospital, medical evidence showed death was due to asphyxia, resulting from oedema of the throat caused by an abscess and a. verdict was returned accordingly.
At the inquest held on John Pringle, found dead on December 28 near a
bridge of tlie Kaikorai stream, evidence showed deceased was dragging a gun through a fence when it exploded. The shot entered the throat and came out of the car. A verdict of accidental death was returned.
