The list of new year honours included new Peerages which are conferred upon the following:—■ Major Dudley Annin, who unsuccessfully contested Favershani for the Labour Party at the general election , Sir Willoughby Dickinson who was formerly Liberal member of Parliament and prominent member of the London County Council. He is honorary secretary of the world alliance for the promotion of international friendship through churches and lias been closely identified with the League of Nations Union. Sir’William Noble, ex-President of the Chamber of Shipping. Arthur Ponsonby, Under-Ssecret.ary for Foreign Affairs in the Labour Government of 1924 and now Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport. Sir Hugh Trencliard, Air Marshal. Sir Charles Wakefield, who has done much for aviation.
There is one new Privy Councillor, Viscount Goschen, lately Governor of Madras. New • Baronets include-:
Louis Bernhard Baron, son of late Bernhard Baron, the millionaire tobacco magnate, for public ami philanthropic services. Sir Gregory Foster recently ViceChancellor of London University and Sir Eustace Tennyson Dennyeourt. formerly director of naval construction.
Among the new Ki, lights, are Nigel Davidson, legal secretary to the Soudan Government.
