SUPER LAND TAX
CASES OF HARDSHIP,
WELLINGTON, Dec. 30
No information is available as to the number of objections received by the Commission appointed by the Government to investigate cases of hardship arising out of the super land tax imposed under the legislation of last session. It has been ascertained that those who have lodged objections have been notified by the Commissioners to forward their objections in writing, together with a statement of their financial position, supported by affidavits. This material will be considered by the Commissioners, but where it proves insufficient to enable individual claims to be determined the objectors concerned will Ikj given an o nortunity of producing evidence before the Commission itself.
As many cases as possible will be dealt with in Wellington, but other centres will ibe .visited later as required. The results of these investigatoins will bo embodied in a report to the Minister of Lands.
