BIG CUTS IN TAXATION

PARIS, December 28,
Following upon the Premier, Mr Tardieu’s exposition of his foreign policy, the Chamber of Deputies has voted confidence in the Government* by 342 votes to 17. The result is that M. Tardieu and M. Briand will go to The Hague Reparation and the London Naval Conferences with the full authority of the Chamber. The Commission of Finances has accepted the Government’s figure of £9,000,000 for tax reductions, this making the total relief for the coming year £22,000,000. 'I he chief new beneficiaries will be families, to the extent of £2,000,009 salaries of taxpayers, £1,000,000; luxury tax, £1,300,000; small tradesmen, £1,200.000, amusement tax, £250,000.
