Mercury will steadily decrease in brightness from apparent stellar magnitude minus 0.6 to apparent stellar magnitude plus 2.6 from Ist. to the 21st, after which it will increase to apparent stellar magnitude plus 1.0 on the 31st. Venus will steadiy increase in brightness from apparent stellar magnitude minus 3.4 to apparent stellar magnitude minus 3.5 during me month. Jupiter will decrease in apparent stellar magnitude from minus 2.3 to min.ue 2.1 during the month. Saturn will be of apparent stellai magnitude plus 0.7 throughout the month. ECLIPSES. FOR 1930. There will be four eclipses during 1930, two of the Sun and two of the Moon, as follows: I. A partial eclipse of the Moon on April 13. 11. A partial eclipse of the Sun on April 29; invisible in New Zealand. 111. A partial eclipse of the Moon on October 8. IV. A total eclipse of the Sun on October 22, visible as a partial eclipse in New Zealand.
