It is known that pilots experience a ‘"blackout” under such circumstances, but the exact physical effect is unknown. The Air Force men will deliberately turn racing craft at higher speeds in order to produce a “blackout,” so that its effect may be studied. The only high speed teamster who has not yet experienced it is FlightLieutenant Stainforth, a GloueesterNapier pilot, who, his comrades say, has a cast iron stomach. Twelve are in hospital including the High Chief, Juimal Ealiifan, who has a slight arm wound.
